Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking for Crusher Labourer at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7, 12-hour, day and night shift schedule.

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Position

Crusher Labourer (Permanent)

Location

Copper Mountain Mine, is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley.

Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.

Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Summary

Reporting to the Mill Operations Supervisor, the Crusher Labourer is required to support the crusher operator (primary & secondary) by cleaning build-up material, and monitoring belt conditions, while adhering to all safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Practices safe work behaviors and supports the Copper Mountain Mine safety culture through participation in daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives,
• Adheres strictly to PPE requirements in all areas while on mine property,
• Follows all Company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs),
• Maintains good housekeeping of the crushing area using a variety of tools,
• Supports both crusher operators in their duties,
• Carries out operational checks,
• Reports maintenance requirements on concerns,
• Communicates effectively with all team members,
• Performs any other responsibilities related to the Crusher Labourer role as required or as assigned by the department head.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED),
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating machinery, is considered an asset, but not necessary.
• Possess a valid Class 5 / 7N driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.

• Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment such as noise and working in dusty and wet environments,
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, heavy lifting, awkward positions, walking, and standing.
• Regular exposure to lifting and moving items and equipment up to 50 pounds,
• Will be required to be clean-shaven.

Rate of Pay

$31.29 / hour
