TheAccounting Assistant Student Finance is responsible for providing customerservice relating to all types of revenue, (Internal and External), received byNAIT, which includes student payments, grants, loans, scholarships, studentsponsorship payments, student awards.
Refunding the Student account is a largepart of the position, and in completing refunds, the Accounting Assistant mustknow the Student Finance Board, NAIT, and NAITSA policies and procedurespertaining to their fees and have an in-depth knowledge on how the charges arestructured vs the actual way the charges are being placed on the studentaccount.
No refund is completed withoutdetailed analysis. Accounting Assistants are NAIT’s source for student accountinquiries from students, third party sponsors, staff and management.
The focusof this position is excellent customer service, which ensures the customersquestions or concerns are answered in a confidential, accurate and timelymanner.

Skills& Abilities :
- Excellent communication skills, including the abilityto approach difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational andanalytical skills.
- Strong understanding of Moneris payment processing.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft OfficeSuite, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Finance systems would be a significantasset.
Qualifications :
- Related post-secondary diploma (for example : finance,accounting, business administration, etc.).
- 2 years related experience, experience with PeopleSoftin a post-secondary environment would be an asset.
Applicants witheducation credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentialsevaluated by World Education Services or the International QualificationsAssessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration : $49,886.20- $58,142.24 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification Finance / Accounting Assistant I).
Thisposition is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)Collective Agreement.
