Senior Accountant (Consolidations)

For one of our clients in the mining and metals industry, we are seeking a professional for a key role within their consolidation team.

Based in Montréal, this position offers a dynamic work environment, promoting collaboration across global teams. It is a 6-month contract, with the potential to transition to a full-time role based on performance.

• Incorporated Business Rate : $87 to $90 per hour.

Responsibilities :

• Participate in the monthly consolidation of product groups.
• Train and guide team members to achieve quality and timely results.
• Develop and deliver training programs for internal and offshore teams.
• Review consolidated financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS and stakeholder requirements.
• Prepare financial reports for senior management.
• Provide Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) guidance and accounting advice to improve performance.
• Ensure Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) compliance and support audits.
• Drive process improvements using data analytics and digital tools.
• Collaborate with teams across multiple global locations.

What you will need to succeed :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA or equivalent certification.
• 8+ years of consolidation experience within a large, multi-national, multi-currency organization.
• Familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and IFRS standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience working in diverse, global teams.
• Bilingual in English and French for effective communication with international teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with SAP is considered an asset.
