As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will guide and manage the overall HR services, policies, and programs for National Bank of Canada US entities - National Bank Financial Inc.
NY Branch and Natbank located in both New York and Florida.
More specifically, in this role you will provide strategic and tactical HR support to the US region business units. You will support senior managers with all aspects of the employee's lifecycle including and not limited to talent management & development, organizational development, HR compliance, managing employee relations issues, managing compensation & benefits, overseeing payroll and leading HR projects and initiatives.
This role is the lead HR role in the New York office and will manage an HR generalist role.
The ideal candidate can wear several hats with outstanding prioritization skills and ability to work with multiple different teams in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate would be an advocate for healthy team and organizational culture to employees and leadership.
This position will be based in New York.
Your Job
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and programs including recruitment, employee relations, team development, engagement, talent management and performance management, based on the identification of issues, challenges, and trends.
- Provide proactive HR support, meeting regularly with senior leaders, and managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
- Promote employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Manage and participate on examinations performed by internal and external audit with regards to HR practices.
- Oversee and administer benefits, including healthcare, dental, vision, 401k, and other employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance and providing guidance to employees.
- Oversee payroll processes, working with HR generalist and Finance to ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing.
- Partner with recruitment to identify talent needs and hiring (e.g. sourcing).
- Stay informed about HR best practices (compensation, benefits, employment law) in the industry.
- Leverage employee survey data to generate actionable insights and improve employee experience and culture.
- Build and maintain relationships with local senior managers, HQ, compliance, and external vendors.
- Ensure proper employee transfer from Canadian or European entities, including work authorization, corporate housing, relocation expenses etc.
Basic Requirements
- BS / BA degree in Human Resources, Business or other related management field or equivalent practical experience with 7+ years HR generalist experience.
- strong working knowledge of multiple HR functions (with emphasis on payroll, benefits, HRIS, employee relations - in Financial Services, Banking or Investment Banking industry preferred).
- Working knowledge of State and Federal employment and labor laws.
- Ability to interpret and accurately apply corporate policies.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence senior leaders.
- Excellent change management skills to assist the organization through growth and change.
- Must be able to easily navigate between strategic and administrative responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong MS Office technical skills, including significant experience using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
Note
Work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence, until further notice.
Your Benefits
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base salary range for this position is : $125,000 USD TO 140 000 USD / year.
This position is eligible for variable compensation also.
