Health & Safety Advisor
The Fath Group is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our safety team. The H&SAdvisormust be able to align with the company’s core purpose and core values.
Core Purpose : Building positive change in our communities; Core Values : Commitment, Attitude and Respect. This is a permanent full-time position based at our head office, located in the west end of Edmonton.
As the successful candidate, you will report to the Health & Safety Manager and will be required to perform the following key responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities :
- Development and maintenance of the Health and Safety Program components to ensure compliance to Regulatory requirements.
- Assist with Incident Reporting and Investigations. Review and complete documentation, identify and recommend Corrective and Preventative Actions.
- Conduct Formal Hazard Assessments.
- Support the company’s Alcohol and Drug program.
- Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans and Emergency Management processes
- Coach and mentor Operations through worksite Safety Inspections, Observations, and participation in Toolbox Talks.
- Review and coach all employees on the completion of Field Level Hazard Assessments.
- Assist Operations in developing and implementing Safe Work Practices and Procedures.
- Develop and maintain the Health and Safety Contractor Management program including maintenance of Contractor Compliance Programs.
- Participate on various OH&S initiatives and improvement projects.
- Participate in the review and the analysis of Incident and Injury Data, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Maintain COR Audit requirements, both internal and external.
- Rotational on-call hours required.
- Perform additional assignments per Health & Safety Manager’s direction.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Diploma or Certificate in the Occupational Health & Safety is required.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) is highly desirable or qualified to write.
- National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO) is beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in OH&S is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Alberta OH&S Code, Act and Regulations.
- Experience in Incident and Injury Investigations and Injury Management.
- Experience in Formal Hazard Assessments and Identification.
- Familiarity with COR Audit requirements.
- Experience in Health and Safety Contractor Management and Contractor Compliance programs is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal, written and visual presentation).
- Proficiency in SiteDocs, Microsoft and Google suite of applications.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with high attention to detail.
- Must be able to provide an acceptable driver’s abstract and pass site access drug and alcohol test results.
