Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Data Science to lead and expand our data science initiatives.
This individual will oversee the execution of data-driven strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that data science contributes effectively to the company's objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise, and a proven track record in leading data science teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership : Define and drive the overall vision and strategy for the data science department to align with company goals.
- Project Oversight : Oversee the development of data science projects, ensuring quality and adherence to best practices, timelines, and business needs.
- Data Strategy and Architecture : Collaborate with engineering teams to design and enhance data pipelines, storage solutions, and data architectures.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
- Innovation : Stay abreast of the latest data science trends, tools, and methodologies to introduce new and innovative solutions.
- Performance Metrics : Establish KPIs to measure the impact of data science initiatives and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks in data handling and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications :
- Educational Background : Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of 10 years in data science or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Proficiency : Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and advanced analytics.
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire data science teams and collaborate with senior leadership.
- Analytical Thinking : Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a strategic mindset.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Business Acumen : Strong understanding of how data science can impact business decisions and drive value.
