Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Learning & Development Specialist is a critical role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training and professional development programs that support organizational growth, employee skill enhancement, and strategic talent development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments across the organization to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities.
  • Design and develop engaging training content, including instructor-led workshops, e-learning modules, and blended learning programs.
  • Create and maintain a robust learning management system (Dayforce) to track and manage employee training progress.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors for learning & development opportunities for individual employees and teams.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs for new employees to ensure smooth integration into the organization.
  • Design leadership development and career progression programs.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align training initiatives with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback, performance metrics, and return on investment (ROI) analysis.
  • Stay current with emerging learning technologies, instructional design methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Assist the organization in an HR Business Partner capacity when required.
  • Participate and lead other initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in learning and development, training, or instructional design, preferably in a manufacturing / construction setting.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in learning management systems (preferably Dayforce) and e-learning tools.
  • Strong instructional design skills with experience in creating various learning content formats
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to measure training effectiveness.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required for on-site training and workshops to the Niagara region and the US.
