Job Description
POSITON SUMMARY : Under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor CGC Aquatics, and the technical direction and guidance of the Head Lifeguard, assists the public to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensures that bathers are showered and appropriately attired before entering the pool area; refuses admittance to those not adhering to building policies and procedures.
- Regulates the number of people on the slide and ensures adherence to rules and safe operation procedures.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures of the pool and related equipment.
- Assists lifeguards and instructors with their duties when necessary.
- Enforces pool rules and regulations.
- Responds to public inquiries or complaints or refer to appropriate staff for follow-up.
- Operates sound system, code-a-phone, public announcement system, batherload counters and keeps necessary records.
- Repairs equipment or takes appropriate action in the meantime, and advises supervisor of any equipment maintenance or replacement needed.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Experience :
Current certifications : RLSSC Bronze Cross and / or CRCS Leaders, or National Lifeguard Service, or CRCS / LSS Instructor, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
Skills / Abilities :
- Must be customer service orientated and be able to get along with other members of the staff team
- Must demonstrate initiative and show a positive attitude
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
- Must maintain all awards current from data of application until end of employment period
- Must attend and complete within three months of employment, customer service training and WHMIS training
- Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Will be required to work irregular hours and weekends
