Description :

Financial Analyst is accountable for planning, conducting and reporting on compliance and assurance reviews for the Ministry.

The position performs reviews to examine, evaluate and report on various aspects of risk management, internal controls and operational governance;

and provides financial expertise and analysis, and reports on the findings. The analyst will be responsible for a variety of financial analysis and reviews including :

  • Accounting Officer (AO) type compliance reviews providing the appropriate financial analysis along with strategies for the remediation of all errors and irregularities encountered
  • Complete sensitive and special financial reviews ( employee theft, personal use of P-Cards etc.)

The Financial Analyst will also serve as a resource that provides financial information and advice to various stakeholders in the Ministry and within the ministry program areas ( Expenditure Officers and program staff) who are responsible for financial processes and analysis ( expenditures).

The position will also assist stakeholders with decision making by providing financial analysis and business advice. The large number of different integrated management / financial information systems used across Ministry, and frequent upgrades and introduction of new systems contributes to the complexity.

The position requires the ability to continuously learn, to utilize the knowledge gained, and to adapt to the changing environment the Analyst may find themselves working in.

Additional Notes :

1. The work model is Hybrid. The Awarded Resource is expected to be on site 3 days per week.

2. This role will complement a current role, where an additional resource is required.
