Job Title Senior Reporting Specialist (Supporting the GO Expansion Program) Location Toronto, ON CA (Primary) Category Engineering, Information Technology, Project Controls, Project Management, Technical Advisory Job Type Full-time Job Responsibilities (Internal Title : Senior Reporting Specialist) Responsible for assisting the Program Reporting Lead to produce Program reporting deliverables, reporting content and analysis Serve as the Program Controls Reporting interface with Program Planners, Commercial and Program Management personnel Work with the Program Controls Reporting Team and Program Teams to produce reporting deliverables to time and quality Notify staff and stakeholders of reporting requirements and timelines and ensure deadlines are met Ensure that project information is distilled into meaningful information for reporting and presentation Develop reporting dashboards using Power BI;
making use of various visual types Analyze project data and provide detailed cost and schedule variance analysis information Facilitate and support the monthly internal management and Program review meetings Perform Project Controls surveillances on individual Projects to ensure adherence to requirements Responsible for the facilitation and documentation of design decisions as well as data and reporting standards to support effective and efficient rollouts of BI reporting Manage own time with minimal supervision and escalate non-routine issues Ensure the accuracy of program data which is incorporated into project reports Lead the creation and maintenance of program reports utilizing tools such as Oracle BI and Excel Design and build lists, graphs, scorecards, metrics, filters, prompts, and dashboards Consult with the team regarding the maintenance of robust processes and procedures to allow for efficient workflow compliance with systems and standards Collaborate with the data architecture and technical development team to ensure the creation of an efficient technical solution that meets all functional business needs Facilitate working sessions with central and distributed end users and management to identify and document current reporting systems, base or user populations, and current and planned initiatives impacting reporting Direct the development of key project deliverables and artifacts such as business requirements, functional design documents, fit or gap analyses, proposed data models, and report mock-ups Provide guidance on troubleshooting and fixing reports Working Conditions Office-based Qualifications Required Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience Experience in Program or Project Controls with a strong focus on Data Warehouse and enterprise reporting solutions Minimum of 5 years of experience developing applications, reports, and dashboard Minimum of 4 years of experience developing reports against an OLAP data source Have registered on and are working towards professional qualifications (e.
g. APM, PMI) Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field Skills and Competencies : Expert grasp of the Construction and Engineering industry Hands on experience in production of high-quality reporting documents Expertise in manipulating departmental output into meaningful, useful and attractive reports for internal and external customers Technical writing and graphic design experience a plus Coordinate with teams and stakeholders to produce and analyze monthly Program Reports Co-ordinate the input and production of monthly program reports Quality assure all key reports to ensure a consistent and high standard of Project and Program reporting Works with database and reporting specialists to ensure quality and efficiency of Program reporting Experience and proven track record in Project Controls is essential Thorough knowledge of project controls functions, specifically in the areas of baseline development, performance management and scheduling Must be fluent in the use of computer software Microsoft Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with skills in Macros, data warehousing and coding a plus.
Demonstrated experience developing reports using various tools (Oracle BI Publisher, Qlik suite or Power BI, Tableau, etc.
Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft SharePoint, SQL, Primavera P6 scheduling, Earned Value software all a plus Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work closely with peers, senior managers and external stakeholders Proven ability to effectively co-ordinate activities within and across large organizations Must be a cautious and prudent guardian of confidential information An ability to achieve business results working in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment Must have worked within an application development environment In-depth knowledge of ETL development responsible for designing and creating the data warehouse and all related extraction, transformation, and load of data functions Competent in working with stakeholders and end-users to define, test, elicit, and deliver technical and functional BI requirements by making use of Business Intelligence reporting tools Proven success in delivering reporting solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders Mastery of BI development, testing, and change management Sound understanding of Oracle Business Intelligence Analysis report development Advanced skills with relational and multidimensional database schemas and writing queries Proficient in Programming or Scripting Adept to solve real-world business problems by designing and building queries sourced from OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) cubes, applying data mining algorithms, writing queries, and designing reports using various tool sets and a SQL Server data warehouse Working knowledge of cloud applications in Microsoft and Oracle preferred with the ability to design OLAP DB and report architecture for future scalability Extensive background in effective information delivery design and report development Demonstrated capability to lead large and diverse Reporting team.
