Overall Requirements :
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing the demand plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory.
The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a monthly Unconstrained and Constrained production plan and risk consistent with the plant capacity, material constraints and sales forecast.
The planner is responsible for all demand change impacts, determining the desired inventory levels for finished goods down to the pack size including safety stock levels & Customer and internal impact statements.
The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans, by month, for a rolling three month period.
Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.
Responsibilities :
Create a rolling 3-month Master Production Plan and Consensus Demand Lock for designated products. Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, and new business opportunities.
Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times.
- Create and drive the S&OP process company wide
- Drive all Demand Intake and Commit processes company wide
- Drive a monthly revenue budget and run risk meetings weekly
- Perform supply demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 months.
- Make delivery commitments on MTO products, which involve checking uncommitted material and availability of capacity.
- Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis.
- Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels in ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability.
- Ensure coordination with plant schedulers to execute Production Plan on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric on production performance to the requested production schedule.
- Review sales forecast with business manager on a monthly basis and suggest modifications consistent with knowledge of current or historical demand.
- Assist in the maintenance and ingenuity of the Lean journey at Renaissance
Education & Experience :
- BA or College Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or relevant field or minimum 2 years’ related work experience.
- Minimum 5 years planning experience
- Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience including Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Kata, Gemba, Heijunka, Jidoka, Gemba, 8 Wastes, 6S, etc
Additional Qualifications :
- Contribute to the development of process and procedural documents.
- Sharing in a team-based environment and provide knowledge transfer when required.
- Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely fashion. This is a fast-paced quick turnaround environment
- Ability to listen and communicate with peers at all levels within the organization
- Health and Safety conscious
- Autonomous self-starter; can anticipate what needs to be done before being asked
- Knowledge of repair operations a strong asset
- Strong excel proficiency and data analysis / reporting experience a must
- Strong written and oral communication skills
