Schedule
The department provides service 7 days a week with schedules rotating through multiple shifts including days, evenings and nights, subject to change based on the needs of the department.
The successful candidate must be flexible to work all shifts both during the week as well as on weekends, and statutory holidays.
Shifts : 8 hour shifts - Days, Evenings, Nights, rotating weekends and statutory holidaysPlease note the current schedule may change due to operational needs.

Teamwork
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong organizational and customer service focus to work as a member of the Medical Device Reprocessing team.
Working closely with other Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians, Porters, Operating Room and clinic staff, you will support an environment where the focus is on quality patient care.

Quality assurance
Receiving and decontaminating of soiled and contaminated instruments and equipmentPreparation, wrapping, packaging of instruments and equipment for the Operating Room and other areas of the hospitalSterilization of equipment and instrumentsReviewing and picking of case cart requisitionsMaintaining the quality and functioning of the departments’ large equipment such as cart washers, washer / disinfectors and sterilizers through appropriate cleaning and validation
Requirements

Education
Graduate from a Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program at a recognized College or MDRAO certification with recent experience in a Medical Device Reprocessing department (MDRD) and appropriate re-certification (every 5 years).

Experience

Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of medical device reprocessing standards and a working knowledge of departmental equipment and processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization equipment and medical device reprocessing techniques and standards is mandatory.
