Job Summary
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Team at our IPEX Edmonton Plant. A Manufacturing Engineer is a pivotal figure responsible for optimizing production processes, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Collaborating across various teams, they spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and foster continuous improvement.
Principal Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams in developing forward-thinking manufacturing strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement, cost reduction, and waste elimination using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers to drive collective success.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and creativity.
- Innovate cutting-edge manufacturing systems integration, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Ensure seamless integration of disparate systems for enhanced productivity and agility.
- Establish stringent quality control measures employing Six Sigma methodologies.
- Drive initiatives aimed at achieving zero defects.
- Champion sustainability practices, energy efficiency, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Responsible for run preparation, PSSR meetings and post run evaluations.
- Apply Six Sigma principles for process optimization and defect reduction, utilizing data analysis for continual improvement.
- Stay updated on international manufacturing standards, ensuring adherence to ISO, Six Sigma, and other quality frameworks.
- Development of process parameter windows and standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or another related Technical field is required.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (.) with APEGA is preferred.
- LEAN Six Sigma green belt certification or equivalent is an asset.
- Experience in the extrusion industry is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in tool design, fabrication, machining and welding methods.
- Must have a solid understanding of Project Management, Lean Principles & Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in data analytics, predictive modelling, and change leadership.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Employee may be exposed to a moderate level of hazards in the work environment, such moving machinery, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork / reach / bucket lift / other.
- Work in office environment with long periods of sitting.
TRAVEL :
Willing to travel within the Extrusion Plant network.
