Ericsson recently launched the Global Network Platform (GNP) Program with the ambition of creating a federation of Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and exposing and aggregating advanced 5G network APIs to Enterprises and to development communities through Vonage’s marketplace.

The GNP Engineering team designs, develops, integrates, tests, delivers, and exposes advanced 5G network APIs utilizing the latest cloud native technologies.
The GNP Engineering team is made up of high performing Software development teams who work with End-to-End Agile / SAFe methodologies and an Operations team that ensures Platform stability in production.

Our Exciting Opportunity :
We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our Product development team who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment of ground-breaking cloud-native product and surrounding technologies.
If you have a desire to make a technological impact and contribution to advanced 5G communication services, then the GNP Product development team is the place to be! We are a Product Development unit, with Agile / SAFe development teams that develop and deploy SW features based on GitOps principles into a SaaS production environment.
Our architecture is based on micro-services in Kubernetes clusters, currently in the Azure cloud.
You will :
- Work closely with the GNP Chief Architect to help ensure that the Agile development teams are adhering to the architectural principles of the distributed telecommunications product being developed.
- Work with product management to have a clear understanding of the business and product requirements to translate these requirements into architectural and system design requirements which encompass scalable / manageable solution architectures designed for reliability, scalability, security and integration.
- Work with development teams to ensure the scalability, resiliency, and security requirements associated with the architecture are properly implemented and adhered to by the development teams.
- Work with distributed cloud, virtualized, and containerized (k8s) environments by bringing your expertise to the end-to-end network, which encompasses 5G Core exposure networks.
- Work with product and system requirements to ensure, document, and propose solutions so that our GNP solution can easily be integrated with the Network API exposure functions of the 5G Core networks.
- Lead system studies to further enhance our GNP offering and propose relevant solutions.
- Lead Technical PoC (Proof of Concepts) as required.
- Ensure that system requirements are documented, communicated, and understood by development teams, and documented in Jira.
- Assist the Operations team with troubleshooting, remediation, prevention, and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) of issues arising from the production environment when required.
- Communicate and organize relevant advanced technology session for the development teams.
To be successful in the role you must have :
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PHD degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing advanced distributed micro-services architectures based on Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in microservice implementation in distributed applications in a Linux environment.
- A good grasp on containerization, virtualization, and service orchestration technologies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based technologies and solutions, such as Microsoft Azure and related Azure services (AKS, NSG, Storage, etc).
- Skills in Java and Java-based languages, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Bash, Python, GoLang.
- Proficiency in E2E (End to End) understanding of 5G network solutions, along with E2E core network design and implementation.
- Ability to show in-depth knowledge in areas of expertise, from frameworks to low-level implementation details is desirable.
- Ability to explain technology choices and how the selected interworking of the technology stack.
- Experience in translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive architecture and software designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently communicate with teams across the whole GNP organization.
- Experience with using Jira and GitLab in Agile software development environment and culture.
- Ability to build a sense of trust and that crafts a comfortable and effective workplace.
- Passion for innovation and can do attitude.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with Free Open-Source Software, its principles, and licenses.
- Keep yourself updated on the latest technology trend.
You also have :
- Certifications in public cloud technologies (Azure is preferred).
- Knowledge of telecom networks (packet core and radio).
- Familiarity with cloud security principles and technologies.
- Public pet projects showcased on GitHub profile or other media.
- ELK, Data analytics, Monitoring.
- Database (SQL / NOSQL).
- Internet protocols (TCP) and security (SSL, HTTP, HTTPS, Certificates).
