POSITION SUMMARY :
The FX Artist will work in Houdini to create high quality sims per client brief and internal direction. They will use both technical and creative skillsets to develop and create FX such as fire, explosions, smoke, liquids, particles, cloth, hair, crowds, etc.
MAIN DUTIES :
The FX Artist will set up & adjust their own realistic FX sims (fire, explosions, smoke, liquids, particles, cloth, hair, crowds, etc.
They will light, shade and provide slapcomps of FX work for both internal and client reviews. They will attend dailies sessions with the project team and work proactively to contribute to creative problem solving.
They will apply creative and technical feedback as it is provided from the project leads. They will communicate clearly and frequently with the project team.
WHAT YOU BRING :
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Houdini, Maya, Nuke and other necessary software. They will bring an ability to create custom setups or pickup previously built setups.
They will bring previous experience lighting and shading your own shots. They will also bring the following :
- Working knowledge of programming software such as Python, Maya AP.
- Demonstrated ability working with strict deadlines and under pressure.
- Ability to take direction and find creative solutions during the iterative process.
- Strong attention to detail.
