The Opportunity
As their new Senior Mechanical Designer you will be a key part of the design team, working with production to conceive new and innovate solutions.

Position Description
- Create intricate jig and machine design layouts utilizing component data and GDT diagrams.
- Select appropriate off-the-shelf parts for mechanical assemblies.
- Generate design models, schematics, and parts lists for equipment, sub-assemblies, or product using SOLIDWORKDS 3D solid modeling software.
- Review design and system adherence to relevant standards, such as OSHA, CSA, or those specified by the client.
- Supervise and communicate with external design contractors.
- Conduct load and stress computations as necessary.
- Offer guidance, and leadership to, less experienced designers.
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with automated welding and assembly equipment
- Experience working in Automotive and Automation
- Experienced in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
- Experienced with weld and working at a facility that emphasized welding, taking it into concentration for all aspects of a project
- Experience with mentoring and / or supervising others
Education
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician / Technologist Diploma
