Process Engineer - Montreal

The role offers exposure to local and internationally based projects which includes commodities such as Brine extraction and processing, base and precious metals, iron ore and many more.
Support growth and market presence for Sedgman and establish a technical profile and network for new developments. Identify and support new opportunities through leading and innovative solutions focused on value.

About the role
- Be part of a design team of Process and Wet Mechanical Engineers to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and profit objectives
- Generate engineering documents such as Mass and Heat Balance, Process Flow diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Maintain high quality standards to fulfill client and internal expectations
- Support Project Development activities through the concept setting and review process.
- Liaise with management to review design problems or assist in client negotiations.
- Contribute directly to the resolution of technically difficult design problems.
- Other duties and responsibilities associated with the role.
About you
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Process, Chemical or Metallurgy)
- At least 5 years Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering experience in operation and design within the Mineral Processing industry
- P.Eng accreditation
- Knowledge of the French Language
- Communication and leadership skills combined with the ability to provide advanced technical solutions and problem solve are essential to the role
Technical Skills required / preferred
- Proficient in the use and evaluation of process simulation packages such as METSIM
- Involved with and history of process test work process flow development
- Experience in developing Process block diagrams, PFD and P&ID's
- Knowledge in hydraulic calculations and equipment selection
- Chemical equilibrium calculations and balances
- Technical writing and presentation
