Developing the company construction and design standards for overhead and underground electrical service connections to the BC Hydro distribution systems at both primary (25 kV phase-phase) and secondary (120V single phase to 600V phase-phase three phase) voltages.
Collaborating with the external building design community to develop new standards and address location specific electrical service connection issues.
Supporting field trials of new standards.
Providing subject matter expertise for resolution of location specific issues.
What you must have :
Undergraduate or Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred; mechanical, or other relevant discipline may be considered) recognized by Canadian Universities and accredited by Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC).
Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience. Candidates with lesser experience may be considered.
Expert knowledge of CSA C22.1 Canadian Electric Code.
Experience designing electrical service rooms is considered an asset.
Technical knowledge including electrical, mechanical, and operating requirements of distribution overhead and underground systems.
A demonstrated ability to lead through influence with proven facilitation and negotiation skills is an asset.
The ability to investigate, analyze and solve a variety of engineering problems, many of which are of a challenging and unusual nature.
The ability to manage relationships and work closely with stakeholders to drive innovation, find engineering solutions that add value, and address competing interests at least life cycle cost.
The ability to manage the successful delivery and implementation of projects through strong project management skills and a customer service attitude.
Excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in technical writing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
Commitment to learning and development demonstrated through ongoing development such as self-study, attendance at technical and soft skills courses, and participation in technical and professional societies.

Salary / Rate Range : $42.00 - $54.00 per hour
