Robert Half is partnering with a large public company in Langley to assist with recruiting for their growing team! The organization has taken on several expansion projects over the last 2 years and doubled their operation in the 12-24 month period! With this growing demand and workload, the organization is rapidly increasing its headcount and as such, is currently looking to hire for an Assistant Controller position! You will be part of a large team (8+ staff) and report to the Controller and CFO.

This position will work full time with options to work 1-2 days from home (per the company policy).

This position will be responsible for :

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables per deadlines
  • Coordination with finance groups and auditors on financial reporting, budgeting, and audits
  • Oversight of Canadian and US sales tax filing
  • Support office admin on corporate AP functions including review and approval of vendor set up
  • Review and management of bank reconciliations
  • Review and support the preparation of Audit working papers
  • Management of Accountants, Accounting Clerks, and Office Admin

Job Requirements :

An ideal candidate will have :

  • 2+ years working at a similar level, ideally as an Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager level in a large / mid-size organization
  • Experience owning the month end, year end, financial reporting process is required ideally both for US & CAD entities
  • Experience with consolidations, intercompany transactions internal controls and IFRS will be an asset
  • Leadership skills experience supervising staff will be ideal
  • CPA designation
  • Strong Excel Skills are required proficient with VLOOKUP’s / PivotTables (Macros will be an asset)
  • Asset : ERP system experience + Experience within similar industry will be preferred (manufacturing / distribution / construction) + experience with a large multi entity environment
  • Strong communication skills
