Job Description

Our client one of Canada’s renowned Law firms is seeking for The Manager, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), People and Culture.

Reporting to the National Director EDI this role partners with internal stakeholders, especially in Communications, Talent Advisory, and Recruitment and the Action Committees in activating and amplifying EDI externally and throughout their offices as part of a cohesive national EDI, People and Culture Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads in developing and executing annual EDI programming and events
  • As main advisor to Firm’s Action Committees and affinity groups, including overseeing annual planning and programming budget
  • Develop and implement EDI strategy, best practices and to measure firm progress
  • Partners with Communications and Recruitment in building EDI brand, outreach and visibility aligned to national EDI, People & Culture strategy
  • Oversees general EDI and culture communications, including reviewing and updating related content in newsletters and intranet
  • Partners with Talent and HR teams to embed EDI in their talent processes.
  • Contributes to and participates in relevant committees across the firm to embed EDI at earliest stages of planning
  • Oversees external partnerships related to EDI

Qualifications

  • Completed education in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in developing and implementing HR or EDI strategy within Legal or any other Professional Services environment.
  • Experience in leading and developing communications and employee engagement initiatives, ideally in EDI
  • Experience in analyzing data and developing data-driven solutions
  • Experience in providing advice or coaching in EDI and / or HR
  • Strong experience in communications, including writing and delivering reports and presentations
  • Strong ability to work with and collaborate with leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently, set own priorities while maintaining flexibility.
