Robert Half is in search of a Staff Accountant to join a well renowned growing organization located in the Ottawa region.

This is a full-time / permanent role on site.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare monthly operating statements and assist in the preparation of quarterly and year- end financial statements for operating companies
• Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that transactions are entered into the system in a timely manner
• Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with ASPE
• Prepare the CAM statements yearly for commercial properties
• Prepare government remittances and ensure timely filings
• Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
• Provide budget versus actual variance analysis
• Ensure to meet department’s objectives by defining individual objectives
• Other duties will be assigned as required

Job Requirements : Qualifications :

Qualifications :

• 1+ years of experience performing full-cycle Accounting and related monthly reporting
• Knowledge of Newstar, Yardi or Great Plains is considered a strong asset
• Knowledge of Caseware or other financial statement preparation software is considered a strong asset
• Enrollment in CPA program preferred
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to exercise good judgment, demonstrate initiative and pro-activeness
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Sound work ethics
• Knowledge of the Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel and MS Outlook
• Proven ability to problem solves, to think strategically, and to take initiative
