Project Manager Job Details
- The Senior Project Manager holds a key position within the team overseeing the development and implementation of a variety of major capital projects, including, but not limited to, large-scale infrastructure projects and strategic capital initiatives.
- The incumbent will inspire, mentor, and lead the cross-functional project teams to develop and manage project goals, schedules, budget, and resource requirements, as well as ensure the successful delivery of projects through effective project management processes and procedures.
- Working in conjunction with the Senior Manager and other team members, the Senior Project Manager is actively involved in the development of project delivery methods, functional specifications, feasibility studies, design documentation, project charter and project plans, etc.
and ensures adherence to safety policies and corporate standards across all projects.
Project Manager - Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring client objectives and organizational goals are aligned.
- Coordinate all project activities, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budget management.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and address any issues proactively.
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and high-
- performance work environment.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, promoting professional development and growth.
- Effectively communicate project goals, expectations, and priorities to all team members.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and
- understanding of project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to identify needs, expectations, and potential areas for improvement in project and service delivery.
- Regularly communicate project updates, mitigate issues and address any concerns or changes in scope.
- Establish and enforce quality control processes to ensure the highest standards in project
- delivery.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Conduct thorough project assessments and post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Developed and managed project budgets, ensuring financial objectives were met.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to maximize cost effectiveness.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports for both internal and external stakeholders
Project Manager - Mandatory Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Interior Design, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management). Master's degree is a plus
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) to demonstrate a solid foundation in project management.
- Min of 5 years experience in complex capital project planning, development and management and proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in the facilities services sector
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Familiar with R&D facility design, operations, and management.
- Valid Alberta Driver’s license
- Solid experience in project management principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
