Your new role
As the Director of People and Culture, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the President and wider Executive team, you will spearhead the Human Resources function across the entire organization.
Key to your success in this will be starting with aligning to the business’s recent cultural transformation. In this role you will provide both tactical and strategic direction in all core areas of HR.
You will lead the areas of employee relations and engagement, performance management, policy redevelopment, learning and development, recruitment, recognition, retention, total rewards and health and safety.
In this role, you will provide strategic direction to the entire organization, including the corporate head office, sales and warehouse divisions across both Canada and the US.
You will have a team of two direct reports in this role; a Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Coordinator, who will support you in your day-to-day.
You will provide training programs to develop the skills and behaviours required to support the organization's evolving culture.
You will focus on developing leaders who can embody and propagate the desired cultural values. You will work to establish clear metrics and KPIs to measure progress and impact of cultural transformation.
What you’ll need to Succeed
To succeed as the Director of People and Culture you will bring 9+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 4+ years in a Senior Leadership capacity.
You will have post-secondary education in HR, in the form of a BA HRM, HRM Certification and / or CHRL. You will have experience with employment, and labor laws, and health and safety legislation across Canada and the US.
You will have thorough knowledge of legislativepliance and have knowledge of best practices relating to Human Resources.
You will bring proven change management experience and be a change agent who is passionate about driving cultural transformation.
You will be skilled with strategic process improvement, planning and execution. You will be a self-starter, who is flexible and adaptable, and you will be able to operate with confidentiality and work effectively with a focus on aligning and meeting both business and people objectives.
You will have fantasticmunication skills, be polished and professional and have strong interpersonal skills. You will be able to multitask, probe, analyze and problem solve in your day to day.
Finally, you will have strong organizational skills and be a forward-thinking strategic Human Resources Leader, who is also capable at rolling up your sleeves, and who is excited about joining and supporting one of Canada’s best Managedpanies during a key period of progressive change and cultural transformation.
