Compensation
$35 to $39 per hour, with a shift premium of $1 per hour, plus benefits.
Position Description
This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components, wiring, and equipment across machinery and facilities.
Responsibilities include facility and grounds maintenance as needed and providing guidance to apprentices.
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, programmable controllers, and relay logic.
- Connect power supply to machinery and equipment and interface wiring between them.
- Diagnose and replace damaged or broken wiring and fixtures in apparatus like transformers, motors, and light fixtures.
- Test malfunctioning machinery, discuss issues with management, and recommend corrective actions.
- Replace faulty electrical components in machines, such as relays, switches, motors, and positioning sensing devices.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components like printed circuit boards.
- Plan wiring layouts and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components in machines and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot presses.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Available for overtime as required and willing to assist based on customer demands.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
- Communicate issues / problems to supervisors or managers.
- Flexible with work hours and shifts as needed on short notice.
- Proficient in English (both written and verbal) and possess basic mathematical skills.
- Knowledgeable in WHMIS / GHS.
- Well-organized and able to work without supervision.
- Perform all job functions according to company standards, policies, and procedures outlined in the company handbook.
- Comply with IATF 16949 quality management standards, BOS Procedures, and ISO 14001.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement.
- Maintain 5S standards in the working environment.
- Attend training sessions.
- Perform all job functions in a safe, healthful, and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned or any reasonable requests by management.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years hands on electrician experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- PLC and programming experience
Qualifications
- 442A license (but will also consider a combination of 309A license and industrial experience)
- Industrial Trade certification as Industrial Electrician and / or PLC certification
- Ability to create, manipulate and follow robot programs for ABB, Fanuc, Panasonic for repair and modification purposes
- Mig, Stick and Tig welding
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education
- 442A license (but will also consider a combination of 309A license and industrial experience)
- Industrial Trade certification as Industrial Electrician and / or PLC certification
