Senior SAP PP-PI, IDOC Functional Consultant role

Position : Senior SAP S / 4 HANA PP-PI, IDoc Functional ConsultantLocation : Toronto, CanadaWork Type : Hybrid (50% onsite, 50% remote)Duration : 6 months, with a potential extension based on project needs (Go-Live in May 2025)Travel Requirements : 50% travel to client site in Toronto, Canada (every other week)Utilization Effort : Onsite Weeks : 40 hours per weekRemote Weeks : 20 hours per weekExpenses : Travel expenses coveredJob Overview : We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP S / 4 HANA PP-PI (Production Planning for Process Industries) Functional Consultant with expertise in IDoc integration and hands-on experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.

The consultant will play a pivotal role in a new SAP S / 4 HANA implementation and support project, ensuring robust integration and seamless production planning for a complex manufacturing environment.

This role will require deep expertise in SAP PP-PI modules, especially within S / 4 HANA, to support packaging and production workflows, including scenarios involving third-party production partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with EDI interfaces and IDoc management to facilitate communication and data exchange across systems.

Key Responsibilities : SAP PP-PI Implementation and Support : Lead the configuration, customization, and deployment of the SAP S / 4 HANA PP-PI module, focusing on production planning, scheduling, and process order management.

Provide functional support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial blueprinting and design through testing, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.

Integration and IDoc Management : Manage and configure IDoc interfaces for SAP PP-PI, ensuring reliable data transfer across integrated systems.

Work closely with technical teams to set up and test EDI interfaces for seamless integration between SAP and external production partners, third-party systems, and other business applications.

Third-Party Production and Packaging : Develop solutions and configurations that support production processes managed by third-party packaging and production vendors.

Design and implement scenarios to handle complex external manufacturing and logistics requirements within the SAP environment.

Business Process Alignment : Collaborate with key stakeholders and business units to gather requirements, perform gap analysis, and align SAP PP-PI configurations with the client’s business objectives.

Act as a bridge between IT and the business, providing guidance and training to end users and ensuring successful adoption of the SAP PP-PI solution.

Required Skills and Experience : SAP S / 4 HANA and PP-PI Expertise : Extensive experience with SAP S / 4 HANA Production Planning for Process Industries (PP-PI), with a solid track record in functional consulting and implementation projects.

In-depth knowledge of SAP PP-PI modules, including process order management, batch management, production planning, and scheduling.

EDI and IDoc Integration : Strong hands-on experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), IDoc configuration, and management, specifically in the context of SAP integration for manufacturing and supply chain processes.

Familiarity with third-party systems integration through EDI interfaces for streamlined communication and process efficiency.

Industry Experience : Prior experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is strongly preferred, with a good understanding of the production and packaging processes typical in CPG manufacturing.

Exposure to third-party production and packaging setups is highly desirable, with the ability to create solutions that support complex external workflows.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in SAP S / 4 HANA PP-PI modules and associated IDoc interfaces.

Strong analytical skills to interpret business requirements and translate them into functional SAP solutions.Communication and Collaboration : Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including client stakeholders, technical teams, and business users.

Experience working in a hybrid work environment, with the ability to adapt to alternating onsite and remote work schedules.

Preferred Qualifications : SAP S / 4 HANA certification, specifically in PP-PI or related modules.Experience in SAP projects within a consulting capacity, with an ability to adapt to new client environments and project requirements.

Prior experience in supporting SAP Go-Live activities, including user training and post-go-live stabilization for PP-PI modules.

Compensation and Benefits : Travel Expenses : Covered by the client for onsite weeks.Compensation : Competitive hourly or daily rate based on experience, with opportunities for project extension or long-term engagement based on performance and project needs.
