About the Role :

Our client within the Real Estate industry is seeking a full-time permanent Payroll Administrator to join their team. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll information.

Reporting directly to the Controller, the role involves managing payroll activities for salaried, hourly, and union employees.

This role is the primary and only payroll person on the team.

Responsibilities :

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for various employee types using the ADP payroll system.
  • Input employee data, salaries, approved timesheets, garnishments, and payroll deductions accurately.
  • Manage enrollment and termination of employee benefits with ADP and other providers.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions comply with company policies and federal / provincial regulations.
  • Prepare and submit payroll journal entries for approval and upload into the ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records including TD1, ROE, timesheets, and benefit elections.
  • Reconcile and timely remit WSIB and union dues.
  • Analyze and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts with ADP balances.
  • Annual reconciliation and filing of WSIB and EHT payments.
  • Review and reconcile T4 and T4 summary annually.
  • Calculate annual automobile taxable benefits as part of T4 reporting.
  • Process employee departures in ADP, calculating final payments, severance, and ROE.
  • Establish new payroll accounts for projects including company, WSIB, Union, and EHT.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing payroll process improvements.
  • Lead data migration from ADP to new payroll and HCM systems.
  • Maintain proper filing of payroll documentation.
  • Complete T2200 E (12) Declaration of Conditions of Employment as required.
  • Perform other payroll and HR-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary diploma.
  • Payroll designation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of full cycle payroll experience.
  • Experience with Newstar and ADP Workforce Now is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing environments.
