YOUR ROLE
The Building Maintenance / Grooming Supervisor is responsible for undertaking maintenance general tasks for the building and offices, including cleaning, snow removal, and lawn mowing.
Ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of facilities while monitoring the security of the property. Assist the Montreal Base Coordinator in managing daily operations at the Montreal Station, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures in accordance with company policies.
Plan and direct the activities of station employees under your supervision, assist in training new employees, and prepare various reports for management.
Participate in the preparation of work schedules, maintain timesheets for janitors and maintenance personnel, and conduct work evaluations.
Perform daily maintenance of ground equipment and vehicles, scheduling inspections as required. Oversee various building systems, ensuring timely maintenance and inspections.
Serve as the first responder for emergency calls related to building system failures. Liaise with vendors to schedule inspections and repairs for both the building and ground equipment.
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases as required. This role demands a proactive approach to maintenance operations and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
Participate in internal and external audits and follow up on the corrective actions.
DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE?
- You have a D.E.S. or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a janitor and / or experience in a similar position.
- You are known for your punctuality and understand the importance of safety and the risks associated with working around aircraft.
- You are physically fit. You are not afraid of heights
- You have leadership skills. You have excellent time management and planning skills.
- You have general computer knowledge.
- Be available to answer calls after working hours.
- You are bilingual (French-English). You have excellent communication skills.
- Be "team players" with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines. Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, metal fabrication and welding would be an asset.
Be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
- You have a valid driver's license. Be able to drive various types of class 5 equipment and vehicles.
