The P&H Grain Division is a comprehensive grain and crop input network, operating across approximately 45 locations in the prairie provinces and Ontario.
Our strategically positioned facilities, including grain elevators, rail sidings, inland terminals, and specialized export terminals, ensure that we effectively match producer grain with the needs of both domestic and export end users.

Your Role
As an Accountant in our Payroll & Benefits department, you will be responsible for supporting our payroll and benefits processes by ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial information, helping maintain efficient and effective financial operations.
Day to Day
- Reconcile payroll and benefits related bank and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare, review and maintain journal entries on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for period-end processes.
- Continuously identify and improve processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other accounting departments to understand and fulfill their general ledger requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain compliance and accuracy.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in accounting principles and practices, with a strong ability to manage reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new software and proficient in Microsoft 365 Application Suite, specifically Excel.
- Must be available to work on-site.
Additional Assets
- Understanding of payroll and benefits processes.
- Experience with payroll ERP software and human resources / workforce management systems.
- CPA designation or progress towards is plus, but not required.
