- The successfulcandidate will : · Haveexperience and / or training at the intermediate level and at leading a combinedgrade class;
- Providea child focused approach utilizing current methodology and strategies; · Havea commitment to the direction of the school as outlined in the School GrowthPlan;
- Embedthe First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas; · Experienceintegrating learning opportunities from a variety of subjects in an outdoorcontext;
- Befamiliar with and willing to apply principles of self-regulation; · Haveknowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formativeassessment;
- Becommitted to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wideinstructional team and attend meetings as required;
- Becommitted to consultation, parent conferences, and positivehome / school / community liaison; · Beable to work with students with a variety of behaviors and use positiveapproaches to support behaviour change;
- Becommitted to and practice the philosophy of inclusion; · Haveexperience in the use of computer technology in the classroom;
- Haveexperience using technology for communicating student learning. Additionally, $3,035 annually as aRemote & Rural Allowance. Thisposition is eligible for the current provincial recruitment and retentionallowance for new teachers to SD54.
