Lyteflo is at the forefront of electric vehicle (EV) insights and data-driven innovation. We are a fast-growing startup that prioritizes speed and impact in everything we do, and we’re looking for a dedicated Vehicle Data Engineer to spearhead our EV data acquisition efforts.

This role is essential to our mission of enabling mass EV adoption by helping dealerships sell 1 million EVs in the next 5 years.

Job Summary :

You will be responsible for extracting, decoding, and managing data from various EV models, focusing on the CAN BUS system.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CAN BUS protocols, sourcing and implementing hardware solutions for data extraction, decoding Parameter IDs (PIDs), creating DBC files to facilitate seamless data interpretation, and developing ODX files to map data across historical and future EV models.

This role requires a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with a commitment to speed, flexibility, and impact.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Data Extraction & Decoding : Lead efforts to access and decode data from EV CAN BUS systems, leveraging expertise in CAN protocols to identify, interpret, and analyze vehicle data.
  • Hardware Sourcing & Implementation : Identify and source optimal hardware solutions for extracting CAN BUS data from a range of EV models.
  • PID Decoding : Decode PIDs for both current and historical EV models, ensuring comprehensive data coverage and alignment with industry standards.
  • DBC File Development : Create and maintain DBC files to accurately interpret and document CAN BUS data for consistent use across the development team and product offerings.
  • ODX File Development : Develop and maintain ODX files to store and organize decoded data for historical and future EV models.
  • Collaboration with Development Team : Work closely with software developers to integrate acquired data into our core product offerings.
  • Continuous Improvement : Stay informed of the latest CAN BUS and EV data trends to implement the best practices in data acquisition.
  • Startup Agility : Operate with a high degree of independence, adapt to changing needs, and contribute to a culture that values speed and innovation.

Qualifications :

  • Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of CAN BUS systems and familiarity with EV data protocols.
  • Hardware Knowledge : Experience in sourcing and implementing hardware solutions for CAN BUS data extraction.
  • Data Interpretation : Proficiency in decoding PIDs and developing ODX or DBC files.
  • Problem Solving : Ability to work through complex technical challenges independently and efficiently.
  • Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts within a cross-functional team.
