Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Corporate Communications Manager, the Communications Advisor is responsible for successfully executing various internal and external communications initiatives and will provide communications support for several internal business units as required.
You are a creative thinker and confident writer capable of crafting and executing communication plans that achieve results.
You thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and are comfortable working with media and a large variety of other stakeholders.

Responsibilities :
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to :
- Act as project manager, working collaboratively with internal business units to determine communications needs that support department programs and initiatives.
- Support and provide strategic advice to internal clients and volunteer committees.
- Research, create and write content such as newsletters, news releases, presentations and other vehicles as required for print, video and web formats.
- Develop written material for the senior leadership team including speeches, reports and presentations.
- Assist and implement projects and communication initiatives with managers and stakeholders.
- Cultivate positive external and internal stakeholder relationships to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Work in collaboration with the team to respond to media inquiries.
- Carry out media monitoring, research and reporting on specific initiatives, as well as broader topics.
- Act as designated spokesperson as required, as well as identify, prepare and support subject matter experts within the company for media initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Five plus years of related work experience.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, public relations or journalism.
- Self-directed individual who can strategically problem-solve and identify opportunities.
- Experience writing and speaking for broad audiences.
- Strong writer that can translate information into clear copy and captivating stories.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic communications planning, project management, employee communications and the effective use of online communications.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organized, self-starter with the ability to work well in a fluid environment.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in CP style is an asset.
