What You Will Do
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your primary role will be to oversee the end quality of engineering products as part of the development process and prior to delivery to customers / market.
Responsible for overall operations of V&V including continuous improvements in efficiency and automation, following standards, staff development as well as taking hands-on part in V&V process.
The role will require a 70-30 split on technical vs operational management and over time will grow to more of an operational and strategic role.
Automation and bringing the team to utilize the latest technologies and tools is an essential longer term goal of this role.
Short term, focus is on clearing the V&V pipeline to meet product deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test plan for POS products
Develop, document process and standards for V&V and ensure the team follows the processes
Conduct numerous independent tests of the system including functional and performance tests
Documentation and presentation of tests results
Ability to analyze out of performance issues and pinpoint source of errors for developers
Recommend solution for continuous improvement of testing process
Maintain independent set of test tools and independently setup test systems and conduct full system testing
Recommend & Implement systems and tools to improve efficacy of V&V
Maintain independent set of systems and tools for V&V team
Provide Quarterly Metrics on V&V team
Interface with Product Teams to ensure Product Delivery targets are met
Provide input to Development Team on V&V schedules and Timelines
Mentor staff and take part in V&V hiring and recruiting
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline
Expertise working with Real-Time systems
Experience in system level integration and testing
Experience with test engineering methodologies and processes
Experience with GNSS & Inertial and positioning systems is a strong asset
UAV license is a strong asset
Strong interpersonal skills and a Team player
Excellent communications skills & independent developer
