The Property Manager provides essential hands-on leadership in a residential property. With the direction and support of a District Manager, the Property Manager is responsible for overall property performance by maximizing profitability and maintaining corporate standards within established operational and budgetary objectives.

The Opportunity
Realstar is a leading residential property management company with over properties across Canada. Our properties are clean, quiet and attract quality residents who will attest to our unique standards of service.
Assistant Property Managers play an important role in the successful operation of a residential rental building under our management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly market research and have an in-depth knowledge of the current state of competition and markets.
- Recommend rates to the District Manager for available units and lease renewals.
- Ensure resident inquiries and issues are addressed within 24 hours.
- Interview candidates and provide hiring recommendations to the District Manager.
- Provide initial training and training of new and existing staff.
- Establish and monitor staff work schedules in accordance with company guidelines and to overcome periods of high turnover.
- Manage staff, including conflict resolution.
- Provide knowledgeable suggestions for annual budgets, operating and capital plans.
- Showing and renting the vacant units to potential residents.
- Ensure rents are collected and deposited in a timely manner.
- Overseeing building maintenance systems
Requirements
- Experience in residential property management or relevant professional experience (office administration, skilled trade, handyman).
- Excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Excellent communication skills with residents, potential clients, colleagues and third parties.
- Management skills to support, train and motivate staff and to develop a collaborative environment.
- Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times.
- Basic computer skills.
- Bilingual in French and English, Required
