Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently searching for an Integration Architect and Engineer reporting to Lead, Clinical Data Management, FoundationX.
Description
The purpose of the Data & Analytics Integration Architect and Engineer role is to drive innovation and efficiency by enabling data-driven decision-making processes, accelerating the pace of drug discovery, and enhancing regulatory compliance.
The scope of this role includes designing and implementing solutions to data and analytics use cases tailored to the unique requirements of life sciences research and development and managing day to day operations and enhancements of multiple data and analytics foundational platforms.
By collaborating closely with research scientists, clinicians, regulatory experts, and DigitalX professionals, this role will establish and maintain robust data and analytics solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
Expertise in platform and solution management ensures that state-of-the-art, yet fit-for-purpose, toolsets are appropriately utilized throughout the enterprise.
Essential Job Duties
- Interact with a diverse range of cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Define projects that build, deliver and manage solutions to meet business requirements.
- Provide global ownership regarding integration tool sets, workflows, and data.
- Define the appropriate governance structures and access models for analytics application support.
- Provide expert support, direction, and guidance to BAU team to investigate data issues and define resolution of data issues.
- Promote single source of the truth for key data elements.
- Manage and develop technical solutions to ensure design integrity and flexibility.
- Promote standards and policies for data management to include : data profiling, data management reporting, master data management.
- Investigate opportunities for Data & Analytics optimizations / innovations and co-ordinate with Astellas stakeholders and user community.
- Support Astellas project teams and Business leads to get the best results from their data.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Proficiency in designing solutions per business customer use cases utilizing Analytics toolsets including R / Python platforms, high-performance computing, dense data storage, and ETL data capabilities.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams (infrastructure, cloud environment, application platforms, datalake, etc.) and integrate capabilities to create a unique product or platform that fulfills a business use case.
- Experience with Agile methodology and mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with business and IS stakeholders to ensure efficient and optimal utilization of Data & Analytics environments, initially in the context of clinical study insourcing and the support of enhanced foundational capabilities.
- Possess subject matter expertise on creating a data mesh or federated data architecture that can tap into data among disparate data warehouses, real-world data, and file-based data (structured and unstructured).
- Strong command of data warehousing concepts, tools like Talend, Azure Synapse, ADLS, Master Data Management (MDM) tools.
- Experience with BI and analytics platforms including QlikSense and Tableau.
- Proven ability to design end-to-end architectures aligned with business needs, ensuring support for scalable analytics.
- In-depth understanding of life sciences R&D business processes, adept at translating business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical experts.
- Project management capabilities, ensuring adherence to timelines for successful solution delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including guiding technical teams, offering mentorship, and influencing architectural decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to staying current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the data and analytics field.
- Relevant certifications in data and analytics tools / platforms are advantageous.
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in data and analytics applications roles.
Preferred
- Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in Life Sciences industry
- Advanced Analytics experience
