As the third largest school district inthe province, we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtownVancouver. The school district has apopulation of 32,000 students with approximately 4,300 teaching,administrative, managerial and support staff.
Working under the direction ofadministrator / designate, the youth worker implementsand promotes individualized and / or group programs in First Nations studiesunder the direction of the teacher.
Required knowledge and Skills : · Completion of a two-year post-secondaryeducation diploma in child / youth care from a recognized college / institution or· Completion of two years of universitycourse work in Psychology or Sociology.
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License· A thorough knowledge of First Nationscultures, traditions and values demonstrated through Indigenous Ancestry.
The successful applicant will be a person of Indigenous ancestry in accordancewith an approved special program under Section 42(3) of the British ColumbiaHuman Rights Code.
Bothcontinuing and casual positions are unionized and offer $33.28 / hour. Continuing positions are 37.5 hours / weekwhile school is in session and include an attractive benefitpackage which consists of Extended Health, Dental, and Pension Plan (MPP).
