Description

This full-time Solution Architect role in the Information Services department focuses on defining and maintaining the company’s solution architecture blueprint for efficiency.

The position involves researching COTS solutions and emerging technologies while promoting new tools and initiatives. Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Business Solutions, the architect will collaborate with peers to enhance the application landscape.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on leading the application architecture function, and developing frameworks and methodologies to enhance efficiency and adaptability across the organization’s application portfolio.

Responsibilities include documenting IS Application Architecture through multiple models, discontinuing obsolete components, and establishing governing principles for solution design.

Collaboration with local and regional IS teams is essential to deliver scalable enterprise solutions that align with evolving business needs.

The architect will also liaise with technology partners and IS leadership to inform strategy and standards while promoting shared infrastructure to reduce costs.

Emphasis is placed on reviewing emerging technologies, ensuring technical integrity throughout the solution lifecycle, and fostering continuous improvement in IS processes.

The architect will guide the development of policies and standards, collaborate with third-party vendors, and provide education and coaching on enterprise architecture best practices.

Overall, this role champions effective communication and the proper use of tools and standards within the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application design and architecture, including solid hands-on experience in conceptualization, modeling, and design
• 5+ years experience in application development including on-prem and cloud development, using Java / J2EE, SaaS, and PaaS solutions running on multiple databases and integration across varying types of systems e.g. MuleSoft,
• Knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, and Adobe AEM is a plus
• Understanding of IS management practices and technology issues, including SDLC, infrastructure and application design, development tools, support, project and process management
• Strong understanding of ITIL and BPM practices using tools like ServiceNow
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to present information to technical and non-technical audiences
