Plasman Windsor 1 Manufacturing is currently seeking a strong team player to join our Advanced Quality Team in the capacity of :
ADVANCED QUALITY ENGINEER
The AQE is responsible for managing, coordinating and assisting in the activities of the process relating to PPAP and NMR's at Plasman Windsor 1 Mfg.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with above average communication and organization skills. The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Participate in tool tryouts and part analysis / improvement activities
- Part requirement clarification (appearance, paint zones, fit to vehicle, functionality)
- Participate in all New Model readiness reviews with Customers as support to Program Managers, as required
- Attend Feasibility Reviews to assist in identifying risks in the design and manufacturing process
- Development of quality documentation including Control Plan, part inspection sheets, test procedures, data record sheets, etc.
- Conduct / coordinate / analyze all data collection related to the PPAP and NMR's of new / revised products. (e.g., Capability Studies, Part Dimensional Data, Gage R&R, etc.
When unacceptable conditions result, coordinate countermeasures
- Submit / Coordinate sample parts for appearance, DVP&R, NMRs, AAR, etc. as needed
- Development of launch instructions and inspector training for New Model build event parts
Education & Experience Requirements
- Must possess a secondary diploma or equivalent, preference given to candidates with a degree / diploma in Quality or Engineering
- Preference given to those with Quality Core Tool training and / or Quality accreditations (e.g. ASQ CQE / CQM, ISO, AIAG, etc.)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automotive Engineering or Quality
- Demonstrated ability to identify injection molding defects in plastic parts
- Knowledge of the injection molding process and which processing parameters and tooling conditions yield various quality defects
- Basic knowledge of injection molding tool design and operation, gauge design and qualifying gauges (GR&R's, capability studies, etc.
the paint process for plastic parts, paint defects and paint cure process effects on part dimensions
- Solid understanding of GD&T and how parts are measured
- Experience with moldflow simulation and how it is used to predict / prevent molding defects
- Knowledge of chrome plating of plastic parts an asset
