Join our team as a Data Engineer, IT! In this role you’ll be enhancing data pipeline efficiencies, increasing data availability, boosting business analytics capabilities, optimizing data storage costs and enhancing data security.

We are ideally seeking a candidate located in Calgary.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Designing, implementing, and managing data pipeline architecture using tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Boomi.
  • Developing and maintaining data management solutions using SQL and other relevant technologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with data governance policies and standards, including ISO27000, HIPAA, and PIPEDA.
  • Collaborating closely with the Business Intelligence (BI) team, Project Management (PM) team, and software developers to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Creating a data lake infrastructure and consolidate data from multiple systems to enhance business analytics capabilities.
  • Utilizing Python for data modeling and handling both relational database architecture and unstructured data.
  • Monitoring and ensuring data availability, feature delivery, and system uptime.

As The Successful Candidate You Have :

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing data pipeline architecture.
  • Experience with data governance policies and standards, including ISO27001, HIPAA, and PIPEDA.
  • Experience in data modeling and handling both relational and unstructured data.
  • Prior experience working with cross-functional teams such as BI, PM, and software development teams.
  • Strong proficiency in data management solutions SQL.
  • Proficiency in data pipeline tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Boomi.
  • Experience with data lake and data warehouse architecture.
  • Proficiency in Python and related data processing libraries.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Bilingualism (French / English) is considered an asset.
