Industrial Maintenance Electrician
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE :
Preventative and regular maintenance of food manufacturing equipment.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS :
None.
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION :
Good verbal, written and presentation skills.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED :
Daily work load specified and prioritized. Work quality is verified periodically. Annual review of established goals and work performance.
EDUCATION REQUIRED :
Certificate in License for Industrial Electrician 442A or C&M 309A
TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, motors and piping desired.
- Can distinguish colors used in electric wiring colours-coding.
- Hands-on PLC, VFD and process instrumentation.
- Hands-on knowledge of disconnect switches and feeder breakers.
EXPERIENCE :
- 5 years minimum experience required as a qualified Industrial Electrician.
- Experience in a food manufacturing facility is an asset.
TRAVEL REQUIRED :
Minimal travel required for training and cross training at other Nitta facilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Candidate will be required to continue to upgrade skills on an on-going basis.
- Maintain and repair production related machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose Motors, Control Circuits, and Process Control (VFD & PLC’s).
- Update and maintain all logs and documentation.
- Modify existing equipment to improve performance.
- Must be able to work night shift and weekends.
- Follow all GMP, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Environmental Standards.
- Have good undersigning of the ESA requirements and the electrical code.
- Must follow food safety regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required depending on the department where the employee is assigned.
