The Professional Practice Office is recruiting a full-time, permanent Program Manager for the Nursing Innovation and Program.
The Professional Practice Office provides oversight to clinical practice excellence and innovations in mental health, integrated care and addictions for nurses and allied health professionals at CAMH.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director Practice Innovation, the Manager Nursing Innovation Program works in alignment with the CAMH Strategic Directions and in support of the accountabilities of Professional Practice Office.
This position oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects the Nursing New Graduate Initiative, the Clinical Extern program, the Clinical Scholar and the SPEP.
The program manager, Nursing Innovation Program works in collaboration with the PPO, program directors, managers, nurse educators, HR to develop and execute.
Key responsibilities include :
- Provides leadership in the development and execution of strategies that drives the programming and coordination of activities related to the NGGs CEs, IENs, and clinical scholars program.
- In collaboration with the clinical programs, P&E, and other relevant stakeholders leads the NGG residency program, the clinical extern, the IEN and Clinical Scholar’s Program.
- The primary role of the Program Manager, Nursing Innovations Program is to support the advancement of all Ministry funded Nursing initiatives
- The role facilitates ongoing communication and collaboration among all supported programs, clinical programs and key internal and external stakeholders
- Provides leadership and coordination activities to the nurse educators
In this role, you will act as a change agent by engaging with internal and external stakeholders to effectively implement necessary programs.
You will play a key leadership role in cross-organizational collaborations and work closely with teams to support the onboarding of new staff members.
Additionally, you will contribute to the development of training programs and policies / procedures tailored to program needs.
Understanding and communicating The Ministry’s and HFO's data and reporting requirements to relevant teams will be crucial.
You will also support and participate in risk management, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives both departmentally and organization-wide.
Adherence to the latest revisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, as well as CAMH corporate and departmental policies, is expected.
The role requires maintaining a diverse, harassment-free work environment while modeling the principles of integrity, competence, responsibility, respect, and trust.
Additionally, you will be responsible for performing cross-functional duties and other tasks as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor's degree in nursing required in addition to being registered and in good standing with a regulated college. A master's degree in Nursing or Health Administration is also preferred.
1 to 3 years of management experience (project management and / or people management) is required Experience with mental health and addictions services is required.
Previous experience in third party clinical service provision is an asset. Strong negotiation, relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills enable you to work in a dynamic team environment with internal and external partners.
You are a thought leader, effective in leading change management in a dynamic and ever evolving organization. A strategic thinker, you possess a strong track record of managing operations across interprofessional teams in a client care centered environment.
You have good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and excellent organizational and time management skills.
Bilingualism (English / French) is considered an asset.
