The Opportunity

Working with the Vice President and Managers, the Team Lead, Commercial Operations will support and guide the Commercial Lines team through training and best practices.

The Team Lead will assist in the implementation of process workflows and ensure that staff are up to date with current procedures and processes.

The Responsibilities

Team Development

  • Provide support and training for new hires and existing employees
  • Collaborate with Team Leads in REP to cross-train and provide support as needed for off-program business
  • Maintain strict confidentiality for all corporate and employee issues
  • Coach and mentor new and experienced staff members
  • Share and reinforce service level guidelines and process workflows
  • Work with Learning and Development leaders to structure and facilitate quarterly soft skills training

Operational

  • Collaborate effectively with Commercial Managers and Producers to ensure excellence in client service
  • Act as the day-to-day go-to person for employee inquiries on technical, processing and / or training questions
  • Assist with problem solving in the absence of a manager
  • Foster positive team and client relationships
  • Support team members through corporate initiatives and change management
  • Review processing for accuracy and regularly audit accounts as assigned
  • Act as floater as required based on peak periods and scheduling
  • Provide feedback to Managers on new hires with regards to training uptake and processing audit results
  • Participate in project implementation and EPIC super user group
  • Stay current with new training and systems procedures
  • Maintain strong technical understanding of insurance coverages and products
  • Work with the Business Technology team to ensure that the current workflows and procedures are consistent with the rest of the organization
  • Build out and update training workflows as needed
  • Support the production team on a small book of business to remain current with processes
  • Lead and facilitate the monthly team bulletin meetings scheduling, agenda preparation and distribution of meeting minutes

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in project implementation and training
  • Review audit reports
  • Reconcile accounting transactions and activities
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years Commercial industry experience
  • General Agent Level 2 license
  • Intermediate level of computer knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
