Job Title : Shipper and Receiver

Job Description

The candidate will be working as a dedicated shipper and receiver. They will be responsible for receiving steel as both raw material (aluminum, stainless, material grades) and parts using paper picks, and then inputting the data on an electronic platform for purchase orders.

Additionally, the candidate will be involved in picking products as part of a kitting procedure, packaging, wrapping, palletizing, and coordinating packing slips and logistics for outgoing products.

Forklift operation, including sit-down and outdoor forklifts, is also required.

The shift is Monday to Friday from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, with some flexibility required

Vehicle is required as site is not Transit accessible

Pay : $23

Responsibilities

• Receive steel as raw material and parts using paper picks.
• Input data on an electronic platform.
• Pick products as part of a kitting procedure.
• Package, wrap, and palletize products for shipping.
• Coordinate packing slips and logistics for outgoing products.
• Operate forklifts (both indoor and yard) to move large pieces of steel up to 20 feet long.
• Load and unload flatbeds.

Essential Skills

• Experience with forklift operation (indoor and yard).
• Background in the steel industry.
• Skills in packaging, wrapping, and palletizing.
• Proficiency in shipping and receiving.
• Material handling experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in product quality control.
• Background as a parts person.
• Experience in building out a warehouse program.
• Loading and unloading flatbeds is an asset but not required.

Work Environment

The work environment is a small, clean, and organized shop with about 25 staff members. It is a collaborative space with music playing and ample space to work.

The team includes very senior members, providing numerous training opportunities for growth. Each day starts with a morning meeting to ensure alignment.
