What will your typical day look like?
You will work as part of a team of forward-thinking professionals with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Your role will be to build and develop relationships with our clients and assist them with their global trade needs. Specific responsibilities may include researching and preparing reports, letters, memoranda and presentations on complex import and export issues, helping companies manage trade compliance requirements and realize tax efficiencies in their global supply chains, performing data analysis to identify potential compliance gaps or trade savings opportunities, assisting in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget, providing junior staff with leadership, counselling and career guidance.
You will work with team members across the country assisting them to build and grow their global trade expertise at Deloitte.
In your role, you will not only work with the global trade team in Canada, other services lines in Canada including tax, audit, financial advisory and consulting, but also work globally with colleagues assisting non-resident clients with global trade matters.
You will expand your expertise in global trade, participate in the development and delivery of training programs, and create a learning environment through leadership.
About the team
A career in our Global Trade Advisory practice will provide you with the opportunity to advise high-profile clients on international trade strategies, customs compliance and supply-chain optimization.
More specifically, you’ll advise clients on a variety of import and export matters by providing the necessary leadership, vision, and practical guidance to identify and remedy compliance gaps, anticipate the impact of regulatory changes, make processes more efficient, and achieve cost savings.

You are someone with :
- A completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience in Canadian customs operations gained in industry, a professional services firm or at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
- Deep technical knowledge of global trade and customs topics such as tariff classification, country of origin and valuation, among others.
- Strong interpersonal skills, superior verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities.
- Ability to work effectively while under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to execute a client service plan on complex engagements and work closely with the team in exceeding our client's expectations while identifying and mitigating business risks associated with projects.
- Relevant designations such as CCS (Certified Customs Specialist), CTCS (Certified Trade Compliance Specialist) and CITP (Certified International Trade Professional) are also an asset.
Total Rewards
The salary range for the Manager position is $84,000 - $140,000 and $116,000 - $215,000 for the Senior Manager position, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
