OVERVIEW
Ridley College is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll, Benefits & Pension Administrator to join our Finance team.
Key responsibilities of this role are :
- Processes bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for employees using Payworks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Ridley’s policies and legislative requirements;
- Calculate and monitor various taxable benefits, coordinate market valuations for housing benefits;
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROE), retiring allowances and reconcile final pay elements;
- Complete year-end processing including PA’s, T4, T4As, and other taxable allowances;
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts, respond to employee queries, and stay updated on legislative changes;
- Collaborate with HR on payroll, benefits, and pension issues;
- Utilize technology to improve productivity;
- Administer employee benefits plans, enroll new hires, update rates, and reconcile invoicing;
- Manage pension-related matters for three pension plans, including contribution transmissions, updating data, reconciliation, and reporting;
- Prepare documents for reporting and financial statements for auditors;
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary certificate in Payroll Administration, Accounting, Business or a related field.
National Payroll Institute certification (PCP) is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of comprehensive payroll, benefit and pension administration experience.
Proficiency in the Income Tax Act, Employment Insurance Act, Pension Act, and benefits regulations.
Above-average proficiency in Payroll software, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
Proficient decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated integrity and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Proactive in seeking opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining high confidentiality.
