What is this role responsible for?
- Read and interpret shop drawings / specifications and create custom cutlists;
- Perform precise measurements, setup machine for precise cutting, select materials required.
- Material selection and Quality Control : Knowledge of raw materials to be used for project, including having a general knowledge of veneer species, cuts, and different matching patterns;
Inspect for any defects / imperfections before cutting and make efficient use of all materials and is responsible for ensuring all dimensions and piece counts are correct, according to the work order.
- Have a general knowledge of how to set up and properly run all stationary power tools and hand power tools;
- Interpret and review all drawings and work orders generated from the planning and engineering department;
- Break out jobs by creating clean cut lists with production routings, and expedite the work through the shop floor;
- Prepare all necessary parts for the finishing department;
- Deadline oriented and strive to streamline and improve work procedures while still maintaining a high quality standard;
- Mentor and provide direction to Cabinet Maker apprentices;
- Be aware of the hazards when working around all tools on the shop floor;
- Be aware of all safety control measures and guards and ensure that they are used at all times;

- Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
- Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.
Assets, that would be great to have :
- Cabinet Maker trade ticket or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop,
- Previous experience as a machine operator.
