SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Mammoet is currently looking for an energetic individual to join our Edmonton branch as a heavy-duty crane mechanic. This position requires a candidate with an excellent work ethic, ability to travel, willingness to learn new things in a safe and efficient manner.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Able to diagnose and / or determine technical problems
  • Able to perform regular inspection of all equipment within the department
  • Must document all repairs and parts replacement for equipment files
  • Be able to read, understand and follow hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagrams
  • Able to perform regular maintenance of equipment / material within the department
  • Able to perform / execute repairs on equipment within the department
  • Mentor apprentices
  • Conduct all business in a professional, respectful manner
  • Understand and support Mammoet, SHE-Q and Business Policies and Procedures
  • Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Carry out all work in accordance with Mammoet HSE / SHE-Q and business policies and procedures, including the use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned by EMD supervision

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Experience

  • Must have sufficient training and experience in repairing of major European and domestic brands of mobile cranes in Mammoet’s fleet, primarily Liebherr, Tadano, Broderson Terex and Demag.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Commercial Vehicle Inspection license
  • Must be familiar with manufacturer diagnostic software

Education

  • Journeyman trade certificate (Red Seal On Road preferred)
  • Leadership, basic computer knowledge and strong organizational skills and experience will be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience
  • CSTS
  • OSSA training an asset
  • Fall arrest training
  • First aid an asset

Benefits

This position falls under the IUOE Local 955 agreement. All pension and benefits are through IUOE Local 955.
