Streamsim Technologies is a high-tech software vendor providing oil companies world-wide with software for modeling and forecasting their reservoir assets.
We are looking for a full-time reservoir simulation engineer for our Calgary office. Your primary responsibility will be supporting our end-users and working closely with the development team.
Secondary responsibilities include assisting with customer training, maintaining our support material, and assisting in consulting studies using Streamsim’s software for end-customer projects.
Working for Streamsim will expose you to a variety of simulation, support, and software development tasks and you will have a direct impact on software design and R&D.
Minimum Requirements
- An MSc degree in petroleum engineering from an accredited university with emphasis on reservoir modeling and simulation.
- Currently legally entitled to live and work in Canada.
Reservoir Engineering & Simulation Skills
- Solid understanding of reservoir engineering and simulation concepts and underlying flow equations.
- Experience with other commercial reservoir simulators and reservoir forecasting workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot data from input / output of reservoir simulation models.
- Excellent computer and programming skills. Comfortable with manipulating data files in multiple formats using scripting languages.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written, oral)
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Precise, organized, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and on 3-4 main tasks concurrently.
- Fluent in Spanish to support clients in Latin America.
Other desirable qualifications
- Have coded a reservoir simulator as part of a school project.
- Previous work for a commercial reservoir simulation software company.
- Written and presented SPE papers.
