Your Opportunity :
The Program Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the operational administration of the Post Graduate Medical Education Program.
This position has administrative responsibility for residents in all PGY program levels of the program. The incumbent coordinates all planning, policies and human resources support services for the program.
The incumbent is responsible for building the visibility of all clinical learners within the Department and ensures that their needs are being met and is instrumental in guiding the administrative support for the educational programs within the Department, following the policies and procedures of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), the University, the Region and the Department and / or Division.
This position may be the first point of contact to the Department, Division or specific physician, and serves as a liaison between executives, visitors and managers as required.
This position requires extensive communication with individuals throughout Canada, USA and many other nations. The incumbent must demonstrate a complete understanding of the education program and its curriculum and must have the ability to act independently and exercise judgement in the execution of confidential duties.
The program must be administered in accordance with the University of Calgary’s mandate and within the parameters of the Professional Association of Residents of Alberta (PARA) Agreement.
The program is jointly supported by the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services - Calgary Zone.

As an Administrative Support VI, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of post-secondary education ( diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Completion of post-secondary education ( diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification).
At least One year experience in a Residency Program. Three years administrative experience in a teaching hospital / multidisciplinary medical or educational institution.
Knowledge and understanding of the PARA Collective Agreement, Post Graduate Medical Education Policies, Guidelines and Principles;
University of Calgary Rural Physician Program.Experience with University systems including One45, WebeV, Peoplesoft, Eprocurement, CARMS Webstation, T-Res, eFin, non-employee expense module etc.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio, Access data base, calendar and e-mail.Medical Transcription / Keyboarding skills (type approximately 65 wpm).
