With this in mind, we are currently looking for an innovative Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to ensure that we remain First in Mind First in Choice in our industry.
YOUR MISSION

The Mechanical Systems Design Engineer will design Medical Gas / Air systems and provide up-to-date information and documentation at product release and during the life cycle of our products.
You will provide and maintain quality control, technical support, and service bulletin releases. The role will involve ensuring that engineering queries are dealt with in a timely manner and that any activity through the engineering change process is made efficiently and accurately.
Our Engineering team members support a spirit of open communication of engineering changes throughout the organization and individuals in all areas of operation.
You will also support the development of the Class 1 Inc. product and customer company into a design centre for Medical Gas Products and realize synergies between divisional group companies.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create new product design drawings to meet customer requirements
- Maintain all standard product design drawings
- BOM creation and updates and BOM maintenance for products in serial production
- Input BOM to ERP system when new configuration or spare kit required
- Update existing manuals and specifications and create submittals for applying new product designs
- Lead the part number request process for new part introduction
- Maintain and update the mass data in engineering team for different requirements such as shipping / logistic requirements, production, and service
- Liaise with production and service personnel to provide technical assistance to maintain production schedules and best practices
- Assist in Engineering projects as required

The successful candidate for this position will be a systematic, perceptive, and organized individual with excellent communication skills both written and oral.
This person will have a high sense of urgency, responsiveness, and be customer service oriented.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an engineering or technologist role within manufacturing environment
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract may be required
- Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check may be required
KNOWLEDGE
- Proficient in three-dimensional CAD drafting package (SolidWorks and Inventor)
- Experience in a piped laboratory gas and design manufacturing environment is an asset
- Experience in ERP Software (SAP preferred)
- Bilingual in English & French (speaking and writing) considered an asset
- Knowledge of pressure systems and vessels, piped medical gas systems and associated equipment is strongly preferred
- Atlas Copco Compressed Air R&D experience considered an asset
- Proficient in MS Office Suite

TRAVEL
- Based in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
- Periodic travel outside of Canada and / or continental North America may be required for training and project work
