SummaryA career in our Financial and Tax Reporting practice, within PwC Private, will provide you with the opportunity to help private companies to resolve their tax issues and to help them manage their risks to archive long-term success.
You will advise clients on their local tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant, and will help them manage their tax obligations.
You will focus on reviewing personal trust and corporate income tax returns, and other tax reporting forms.
Our PwC Private teams help entrepreneurs, private business owners and family companies manage their financial and tax obligations and risks at every stage, in a way that fits the needs of their business in today's changing global landscape.
Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As a PwC Private Tax Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business transactions, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations
- Manage, develop, retain and mentor junior tax professionals
- Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail
- Proactively anticipate stakeholder needs and develop and discuss potential solutions
- Contribute technical knowledge in the area of specialism
- Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart
- Navigate the complexities of diverse teams and engagements
- Initiate and lead open conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust
- Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
- Demonstrated experience working in tax compliance
- Experience working in an accounting firm is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting
- Canadian CPA, or Master’s degree in tax or completion of levels I, II and III of the CPA In-depth Tax Course, is an asset
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments in an organized manner
- Entrepreneurial spirit with an interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and / or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
